About the College

Dimoria College is the brainchild of a group of highly motivated social entrepreneurs who in the seventies dreamt of bringing the gospel of higher education to this relatively backward tribal belt area of Dimoria. Led by the indomitable teal of patrons of learning like late Padmakanta Deka (Founder President), late Santa Ram Deka (Founder Secretary), late Prasanna Deka, Late Gopinath Sarma, late Krishna Kanta Bhuyan, the people of Dimoria started a public campaign for the establishment of a College. Their efforts were augmented by donation and cooperation from all sections of local society ranging from rich businessmen like Omkarlal Agarawala to humble thelawalas and firewood sellers.
